Talnet Social : smarter post classification

Talnet Social: a smarter way to classify posts

Social posts on Talnet can now be classified across four dimensions: Area, Stage, Focus, and Intent. Four simple questions replace a single tag hierarchy.

As we keep building a 100% free, central hub for the recruitment community, a cornerstone of that vision is making recruiters' collective knowledge searchable, freely accessible, and organized around the stages of the recruitment process. Valuable insights shouldn't get buried in feeds or scattered across disconnected platforms.

What's new

  • Four-dimension classification for social posts: Area, Stage, Focus, and Intent
  • Area and Stage work together hierarchically
  • Focus and Intent are independent, so they apply across any area and stage
  • Structured choices in the post editor, so every post is easy to place and easy to find

The four dimensions

DimensionQuestion it answersSelection
AreaWhat area of recruitment is this post in?1 tag
StageWhere within that area, or which part of the recruitment process?Up to 2 tags, the second is optional. Only available if the Area has stages
FocusWhat aspect of the subject is it about?1 tag
IntentIs it a question, discussion, story, or opportunity?1 tag

Why this matters

This is more than an organizational improvement. It lays the groundwork for better content discovery.

  • Easier to find what's relevant: Browse discussions by area, stage, focus, or intent instead of scrolling
  • Related posts surface naturally: Consistent classification makes it easier to connect similar posts
  • Built for what's next: Over time, this will help recruiters discover content semantically, based on meaning and context, not just matching keywords

Valuable insights should be easy to find, explore, and build upon.

How it works

  1. Start a new post
  2. Choose an Area, then a Stage if the Area has one (you can add a second Stage, or skip it)
  3. Pick a Focus and an Intent
  4. Publish, and your post is organized across all four dimensions
